Ayush ministry notifies admissions in Ayush UG & PG courses through NEET & AIA-PGET merit list for 2019-20

The Union Ayush Ministry has notified that all admissions in Ayush UG courses shall be mandatorily through the merit list of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG)- 2019 [NEET (UG)- 2019] and all admissions in Ayush PG courses shall be mandatorily through the merit list of All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test-2019 (AIA-PGET-2019) for the academic year 2019-20

A letter to this effect has been sent to the principals, deans and directors of all 250 Ayush colleges in the country.

As per the Gazette Notification pertaining to the Indian Medicine Central Council (Minimum Standards of Education in Indian Medicine) Amendment Regulations, 2018, the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) and the Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH) under the Ayush Ministry has notified the amendment regulations in Under-Graduate and Post- Graduate ASU & H regulations for incorporating the provisions of NEET for admission in UG courses, All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIA-PGET) for admission in all PG courses and for Centralized counseling for all India quota seats.

Further, as per the provision notified the regulations, the seat matrix for admission in the Government, Government-aided Institutions and Private Institutions shall be 15% for the all India quota and 85% for the states and union territories quota. This is applicable for both UG & PG seats of Ayush systems.

The counseling for all admission to BAMS, UMS, BSMS and BHMS and all Ayush PG courses, for seats under all India quota as well as for all Ayurveda educational institutions established by the Central Government shall be conducted by the authority designated by the Central Government.

Further, all ASU & H Colleges have to nominate one nodal officer for providing details of seat matrix and other information’s related to the Centralized counseling as per the requirement for every Academic year. Specific Login IDs and Password will be provided to all Nodal Officers.
