In order to equip primary care providers (PCP) in alternative medicine systems as per WHO guidelines, the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) under the Union Ayush Ministry has invited application for one year full time self financed Panchkarma Assistant Training Course (PATC).
This comes at a time when the government is planning to make healthcare accessible in India by empowering community health workers.
The training will be provided at Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Urinary Disorders (RARIUD), Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) for the academic year September, 2019 to August, 2020 with a total intake of 10 Seats initially with 50% each for male and female candidates.
The course is relevant as there is acute shortage of technical staff for the assisting panchakarma practitioners in India for doing various therapeutic procedures domestically and abroad.
As per Ayush Ministry circular, last date for receipt of applications is on or before September 10, 2019 and starting date of course is on September 25, 2019.
CCRAS is an autonomous body of the union ayush ministry and also apex body in India for the formulation, coordination, development and promotion of research on scientific lines in Ayurveda and Sowa-Rigpa system of medicine.
The eligibility for the same is 12 standard pass candidates from all over India with the age limit of below 25 years as on January 1, 2019. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (non creamy layer) has also been prescribed as per government norms.
As per Central government rules, reservation policy is 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC and 4% for PH. In case of non availability of eligible candidates in reserve category, seats will be filled from the General Category.
