Monday, May 27, 2024, 08:00 Hrs  [IST] In a significant move to elevate the standards of reference material production and quality assurance, the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) has announced an intensive training programme focusing on ISO 17034:2016 and ISO Guide 35:2017. This initiative is set to provide essential knowledge and skills to professionals involved in the production and management of reference materials, ensuring their competence and adherence to international standards.

The training will cover ISO 17034:2016: This section will delve into the general requirements for the competence of reference material producers, including technical and production requirements, production planning, production control, and metrological traceability of certified values. Participants will also learn how to prepare and implement a system compliant with ISO 17034:2016.

The training will also cover ISO Guide 35:2017: This guidance document provides in-depth methodologies for characterizing and assessing the homogeneity and stability of reference materials. It includes technical and statistical calculations essential for these assessments, techniques for material characterization, and evaluation of measurement uncertainty.

The programme will incorporate case studies, group discussions, and practical exercises, facilitating a hands-on learning experience.

Participants will gain insights from leading experts in the field, ensuring they receive current and relevant information.

Target audience includes accredited, applicant, and potential reference material producers; laboratories specializing in testing, calibration, and medical services; and quality professionals seeking to enhance their expertise in reference material production.
