With Maharashtra alone accounting for 65% of India’s data centre capacity and having a favourable start-up and investment ecosystem, Taiwan is keen to partner with Indian businesses in Maharashtra and India for setting up Smart Hospitals with the help of technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), said James Huang, Chairman, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) on the sidelines of the 6th edition of the three-day Taiwan Expo India 2023 which started on October 5, 2023 in Mumbai.

The expo was inaugurated by Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister, Maharashtra.

Founded in 1970, TAITRA is Taiwan’s foremost non-profit trade promoting organization.

The three-day Expo themed on the concept of ‘Explore Taiwan in India’ showcased top of the line products from Taiwan brands to introduce them into the Indian market and secure networking opportunities with new and existing clients. This year the Expo is showcasing 6 themes with 7 pavilions on display across key categories like Smart Manufacturing.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis said, “Taiwan Expo 2023 is being hosted in the capital city of Maharashtra which accounts for more than 20% of exports and 29% of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The Expo, therefore, aims to be a platform that will facilitate bilateral trade relations between the two countries”.

“India is a global giant with the economic power and workforce to match. The partnership of Taiwan and India is perfectly positioned to be a future leader in the world’s technology manufacturing industries. Together, Taiwan and India can redefine industry standards, and can be a leading force in the world’s digital future,” Huang explained.
